From exile and occupation to rebuilding what war breaks, HUMANITE is a collective of refugees and survivors creating a world where everyone rises.
“Some of my earliest memories are defined by the genocidal attacks of Saddam Hussein against my people, the Kurds. I fled Iraq as a young child and lived in displacement as a refugee for years before returning home.”
— Rawand Rasul, HUMANITE Co-Founder
“From what I’ve seen on the frontlines of war in Iraq and Syria… we cannot bomb our way to peace… The way that those things most typically get transformed … is through relationship. It’s through empathy, and coming to understand what it’s like to live in someone else’s skin.”
— Jeremy Courtney, HUMANITE Co-Founder
“It's hard to overestimate the impact growing up in a nation at war has on a young man... Instead of giving in to hate, I threw myself into technical and creative pursuits... I decided to invest my talent and interests as a humanitarian for the first time in service to my community.”
— Ihsan Ibraheem, HUMANITE Co-Founder
“When we sold almost $5,000 in three weeks we thought we were on to something! People were hungering for good news coming from Iraq.”
— Jeremy Courtney, speaking on the launch of the initiative (RELEVANT)
“By the end of 2012, more than 90 children had received surgeries through Remedy Fellowship… establishing a robust model for surgical training unlike anything else in the country.”
— Jeremy Courtney, HUMANITE Co-Founder

Dan, Co-founder and CEO of Lumio
“After this, we both took up golf during the week and started eating fancy dinners at the local Country Club... Ha. This is not what happened at all. We suck at golf and love eating Guzman Y Gomez.”

Whilst in Germany, Dan worked with with brands such as Daniel Wellington and BMW - Ja!
Adam worked with clients like Vodafone, TAFE NSW, Adobe and also won the 'Good Design Australia' award for his work on the Seatfrog website.
The name "Relume" is born.
relume
[ri-loom]
To relight or rekindle (a light, flame, etc.)
To do this they would have to build a company that would be profitable in its first year. Not the next Uber of *insert clever idea*.
“Relume was an opportunity for us to build a profitable business, not a startup that bleeds cash, whilst doing what we love to do. It also allows us to learn about all types of businesses and the problems they deal with. These are all opportunities that we could potentially solve for in the future. For now, our goal is simple, we want to build a kickass business which means we really want our customers and the Webflow community to succeed too.”
Dan, Co-founder of Relume
